5th Carbon Neutral Grand Prize (2016) Yaskawa Electric Corporation Head Office Building: 100 Ecos to Reduce Environmental Impact
We are pleased to announce that the Yaskawa Electric headquarters, which was designed by our company, has won the 5th Carbon Neutral Grand Prize from the Japan Building Mechanical & Electrical Engineers Association.
The award aims to promote a low-carbon society by recognizing the efforts of members that contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society as Carbon Neutral Award. Yaskawa Electric's headquarters building, as the core facility of the "100 Ecos" environmental impact reduction initiative, was recognized for its efforts in using task and ambient lighting in conjunction with natural light, air conditioning in living areas, and the use of natural ventilation in intermediate seasons. Based on one year of actual measured data, the building achieved a 76% reduction in primary energy consumption compared to a general office building.
