The world's first circular teahouse pavilion using food waste as a structure
Winner of the iF Gold Award, the highest award at the international design awards

The mockup and concept video are on display at Mitsubishi Jisho Design head office entrance.

Mitsubishi Jisho Design Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Junichi Tanisawa) is pleased to announce that the World-Food Waste Teahouse, a teahouse pavilion consisting of Veneti-An Tea House Arabi-An Tea House teahouses designed by the company, which uses new materials made from food waste and recyclable resources (recycled paper) for its structures, has won the iF Gold Award, the highest award at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 (Architecture category).

The iF DESIGN AWARD (hosted by Industry Forum Design Hannover, Germany) is one of the world's most renowned design awards, having been held since 1954. This year, approximately 11,000 entries were submitted from 66 countries in a variety of categories, including architecture, and after a judging panel of experts, 75 works were awarded the iF Gold Award as the top prize.

Earning high marks for sustainability
