"Thinking about future Inheritance Design "
--Announcement of the lecture and video recording
[TOKYO ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL Linked Project] Recorded footage of a lecture on the theme of "Inheritance Design" is now available to the public in conjunction with TOKYO ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL
The Architectural Heritage Design Office was established in 2023. It is a group of experts who identify the value of historical buildings, preserve them, and consider ways to restore, utilize, and record them in a way that meets the needs of modern society, developing a variety of initiatives.
In recent years, as the importance of preserving the value of historical buildings, utilizing existing stock, and building archives has become widely recognized, Architectural Heritage Design Office has been playing an increasingly important role in society.
On the occasion of the retirement of Kazunori Nomura, Executive Fellow (currently Advisor to Architectural Heritage Design Office), who has been involved in the preservation, succession, and utilization of numerous historical buildings at Architectural Heritage Design Office while dealing with urban development and high-rise buildings along with the history of the company, which began with the establishment of the Marunouchi Architectural Office (1890), a lecture entitled "Thinking about Inheritance Design in the Future" was held for employees, Mitsubishi Estate Group The lecture, titled "Thinking about the Future of ," was held for employees.

As part of a collaborative project with the "TOKYO ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL 2025," we will be releasing a video recording of the day.
We hope that this exhibition will provide new perspectives and new insights for those with an interest in architecture and cities.

Speaker Profile
Kazunori Nomura
Advisor to Mitsubishi Jisho Design Architectural Heritage Design Office. Professor at Kanagawa University. TOKYO ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL Executive Committee member. Responsible for planning the reconstruction of Marunouchi, preserving the Japan Industry Club Building, restoring Mitsubishi Ichigokan, and designing Ginza Kabukiza. Since then, he has been involved in numerous urban regeneration projects, including those for historical buildings. His publications include "Reborn Historical Buildings: Methods for Preserving Valuable Buildings in Urban Regeneration."
