Nagasaki Stadium City's "PEACE STADIUM Connected by SoftBank" wins International Sports and Entertainment Facility Award

Founded in 2017, the Stadium Business Design & Development Awards are international awards that recognize leadership, innovation, and achievements in the design, development, construction, and renovation of sports and entertainment facilities. This year, 80 projects were nominated from around the world, and awards were presented in 10 categories (Destination, Façade & Exterior, Industry Partner, AV Fan Experience, Concourse Activation, Community Project, Innovation, Hospitality & Premium, Sustainability Delivered, and Project of the Year) as well as the Outstanding Achievement Award.

The "Concourse Activation" category, in which "PEACE STADIUM Connected by SoftBank" was awarded, highlights the general admission area (GA) and "honors projects that elevate the concourse, the heart of an entertainment facility, to a new level."

The stadium has an extensive concourse that connects the various functions of the arena, hotel, offices, commercial facilities, and parking lot, making them not independent buildings but fused together as one building with the stadium at its core.The concourse is open to the public as a circulation space and is used on a daily basis, which was highly praised.

Nagasaki Stadium City and its related facilities were also selected as finalists in the following categories of this award:

Destination Award
This category evaluates the "attractiveness of a place" that is created by integrating Landscape, accessibility, presentation, etc.

Hospitality & Premium Award
This category evaluates the innovation, functionality, sustainability, and surprising design of accommodations, premium spaces for VIPs, etc.

Project of the Year Award
This department recognizes projects that have achieved significant results in the construction of new buildings or the expansion and renovation of existing facilities.
