The third annual "TOKYO ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL," a large-scale architectural experience event, is now accepting applications!
From May 16th (Sat) to 24th (Sun), 2026, we will be holding numerous building tours led by our company's designers.
TOKYO ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL, a large-scale architectural event that held its first edition in 2024 and is now in its third year, will take place from May 16th (Sat) to 24th (Sun), 2026. Centered around the Ueno, Shinagawa, and Shibuya areas, the event will feature a variety of programs, including special public viewings and exhibitions of Tokyo's fascinating architecture, guided tours, and kids' programs, aiming to open up Tokyo's architecture and rediscover the city's charm.
Our company has been continuously cooperating with this event, including organizing tours, since its first edition.
During the event, buildings and locations that are not normally open to the public will be opened, and guided tours led by users and experts are planned.
The following tours are guided and led by our company's designers.
[Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho area]

• Guided Tour [Mitsubishi Ichigokan]: Discover the charm of Condor's architecture, revived in the modern era, and learn about the behind-the-scenes story of its restoration.

• Guided Tour: [Former Tokyo Central Post Office/Meiji Life Insurance Building] Exploring the preservation and revitalization of modernist architecture with an architectural historian and renovation designer.

・ Guided Tour: Marunouchi Nakadori Street- Tracing 135 Years of Change, the Urban Landscape
• Guided Tour [Otemachi/Marunouchi]: A tour with the architect, exploring post-war buildings and the main streets that have been passed down through generations.
• Guided Tour [Japan Industrial Club Hall]: A special tour of the authentic Secessionist-style architecture.
• Guided tour: A tour of the Otemachi Building with the renovation designer, including a visit to the rooftop garden SKYLAB.
• Guided Tour [Marunouchi Architectural Preservation Materials Warehouse]: Touch the real thing and revive the memories of architecture in the metaverse
[Ginza/Tsukiji area]
・Guided Tour [GINZA KABUKIZA]: A tour of the Kabuki-za Theatre, Kabuki-za Tower, and rooftop garden with the architect and builder.
This is an opportunity to get closer to the architecture and rediscover the town from a new perspective, so please come and visit!
Some guided tours have a lottery application period ending on April 19th (Sunday). Please apply as soon as possible.

[Marunouchi] Special lecture by the architect: Behind the scenes of over 130 years of Marunouchi development and the joys of walking around the town.

Marunouchi is one of Japan's leading business districts. We will be hosting a special lecture by Professor Kazunori Nomura of Kanagawa University (a former employee of our company), who has been involved in Architectural Design of Marunouchi for many years, and our Chief Architect, Takao Shoji. They will introduce the history of regional development spanning three generations, the future of the city, and the unique charm and ways to enjoy strolling around Marunouchi.
[Mitsubishi Ichigokan] Discover the charm of Condor's architecture, revived in the modern era, and learn about the behind-the-scenes story of its restoration.

Designed by Josiah Conder in 1894, Mitsubishi Ichigokan is Japan's first full-fledged Western-style office building. Tomoyoshi Ejima, a fellow at Mitsubishi Jisho Design, will introduce the background and highlights of the building.

The Mitsubishi Ichigokan Japan's first full-fledged Western-style office building, was completed in 1894, designed by Josiah Conder. This tour introduces the background and highlights of this building, which can be considered the origin of Mitsubishi Jisho Design, with the involvement of our Fellow Tomoyoshi Ejima and Architect Ayano Yamada, who were involved in the restoration plan and subsequent preservation and renovation. You can also enjoy lunch at Café 1894.

[Former Tokyo Central Post Office/Meiji Life Insurance Building] Exploring the preservation and revitalization of modernist architecture with an architectural historian and renovation designer.

The former Tokyo Central Post Office (completed in 1931), designed by Tetsuro Yoshida, is a representative work of Japanese modernist architecture. Architectural historian Shinnosuke Tadokoro, professor at Nihon University, and our chief architect Yasufumi Onishi, who was in charge of the renovation design, will interpret the philosophy of preservation and regeneration.

[TOKYO TORCH] A look at Japan's tallest skyscraper development project, with its designers and builders.

We visited the construction site of "TOKYO TORCH Torch Tower," a new symbol emerging at the gateway to Tokyo. We explored the entire scope of this super-high-rise mixed-use building, from the overall area to the architectural and environmental design, together with our Senior Architect Satoru Sumitani, Chief Architect Daisuke Nagata, and Naoki Takehara of SHIMIZU CORPORATION Construction, who is in charge of construction.

[Marunouchi Nakadori Street] Tracing 135 years of transformation, the urban Landscape

Marunouchi Nakadori Street is the main street that runs north-south through the center of the Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho district. "Mitsubishi Ichigokan" We will trace the 135-year evolution of urban design, from the era when red brick buildings lined the streets and the area was known as "Little London," to the present-day cityscape, together with Naoki Ueda, Executive Fellow in Landscape Design at our company, and Takashi Wanibuchi, Planner.

The area stretching from Marunouchi to Yurakucho is a harmonious blend of architecture from various generations, creating a cohesive streetscape. Join our Fellow Tomoyoshi Ejima and General Manager Wataru Kirisawa (on secondment from Mitsubishi Estate) as we explore the interiors and exteriors of buildings in this region, learning about the history of urban development, including the ingenuity and struggles of the builders, and the designs and origins of the buildings that shape the streetscape.

The Japan Industrial Club Hall (completed in 1920) is one of the few buildings in Japan to feature authentic Secessionist architecture. We will take a special tour of the building with Mr. Kei Sudo, a director of our company who was in charge of the preservation and restoration project, and Professor Kazunori Nomura of Kanagawa University (a former employee of our company).

Since its completion in 1958, the Otemachi Building has watched over the transformation of the city for over 60 years. We will explore its dynamic structure that runs through Nakadori Street and its relationship with the city, tour the renovated common Renovation, and take a special look at "SKYLAB," a rooftop garden exclusively for local workers. Join our Senior Architect, Takushu Arai, who designed the renovation, as we delve into the behind-the-scenes story of its revitalization.

[Marunouchi Architectural Preservation Materials Warehouse] Touch the real thing and revive the memories of architecture in the metaverse.
[Guided Tour] Date and Time: Saturday, May 16, 2026, 13:00-14:30 / 15:30-17:00 / Reservation required *Lottery applications accepted until April 19
This set tour includes a visit to the "Marunouchi Architectural Preservation Materials Warehouse," where you can touch preserved materials from historical buildings, and a metaverse experience of three generations of the Marunouchi Building in "4D Marunouchi." With commentary from Professor Kazunori Nomura of Kanagawa University (a former employee of our company), our Chief Architect Maiko Tatezaki, Architect Hiroya Inage, and Chief Engineer Naoto Kikuchi, you will experience the former landscape of Marunouchi from both the perspectives of actual materials and virtual space.

[GINZA KABUKIZA] A tour of the Kabuki-za Theatre & Kabuki-za Tower, including the rooftop garden, with the architects and builders.
[Guided Tour] Date and Time: Saturday, May 23, 2026, 13:30-15:00 / Registration required *Lottery applications accepted until April 19
GINZA KABUKIZA is a fusion of the Kabuki-za Theatre, one of Japan's most iconic theaters, and a state-of-the-art office building. Our Senior Architect, Satoru Sumitani, who was in charge of the design, and Kiyofumi Nakabayashi of Shimizu SHIMIZU CORPORATION, who was in charge of the construction, will give you a tour of everything from the rooftop garden to the vast underground plaza and the office sky lobby, which is usually off-limits to the public.
