The third annual "TOKYO WOOD LIFE 2040: Mountains, Trees, and Tokyo" event is being held!

May 1st - 31st, 2026: Events including talk events featuring our employees, exhibitions, a market, a film festival, and more. Applications for attendance are now being accepted.

The "TOKYO WOOD LIFE 2040: Mountains, Wood, and Tokyo"exhibition, which focuses on wood, lifestyle, and urban design, will be held at a total of four venues in the Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho areas from May 1st (Fri) to May 31st (Sun), 2025.

This exhibition, now in its third year, focuses on the relationship between Japan's forests and cities, and will feature numerous events including architecture and design exhibitions, a film festival, a market, forums, excursions, and a stamp rally. Drawing on diverse fields such as architecture, manufacturing, urban development, and community design, the exhibition will showcase strategies and the latest practices for transforming urban life into a "WOOD LIFE" by 2040.


Friday, May 8, 2026 It will be held at Conference Square M+ Success (Mitsubishi Building 1F, 2-5-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). "TOKYO WOOD LIFE 2040: Mountains, Trees, and Tokyo Forum" "of Part 2 (16:00-17:45)"Urban wooden architecture using diverse types of wood in local communities [Embracing forest diversity through architecture]" To our Yuma Ogata, Architect (Architectural Design Department 2 & Wood Construction Lab) will be participating as one of the panelists.
Along with other panelists Hiroki Akiyoshi (Director of VUILD Inc., architect, meta-architect) and Yuhei Koyanagi (President of Forest Partners Inc.), we will focus on timber distribution to utilize a wide variety of woods and discuss the possibilities of coordination within that system.

In addition, throughout the exhibition period, our company will be exhibiting three projects at the special exhibition "Urban Wood Studio 2026 – Design that Showcases Wood" held at the first venue, "GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi" (1F Shin Kokusai Building, 3-4-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo):"Tokio Marine Headquarters Building," "Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo" and "(Tentative name) Chuo-ku Hatchobori 1-chome Project."
