SKY LAB, Roof Top Of Otemachi Building

The open space on the roof of the nine-story Otemachi Building, which was completed in 1958, has been redeveloped to serve as a workplace for local workers, including those employed at the building. The rooftop had been in use when the building was first completed, but had not been used for a long time. Rather than viewing it negatively as a "valley surrounded by skyscrapers," we viewed it positively as a "modern, urban aerial courtyard created over time," aiming to turn it into a place where new work styles can be realized.
