Slit Park YURAKUCHO

Mitsubishi Estate Group is currently working on experimental Renovation that utilize outdoor spaces such as the rooftops and roads of existing buildings. As part of this, they have drawn the bustle of Marunouchi Nakadori Street into the building, creating a park-like path that leads to a back alley and onto the neighboring block. Shoppers and families are drawn to the entrance, which is covered with earthen walls that resemble geological strata, and as they go further in, they pass businessmen waiting for the elevator, and people are enjoying music and drinks at the DJ booth surrounded by greenery. Small pockets of activity are emerging in the gaps between the skyscrapers, and a new landscape is gradually spreading across the city. (Plan outline: New Kokusai Building)
