Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei

Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei

This is a hotel plan adjacent to the Okazaki Betsuin temple of the Otani-ha Shinshu sect. We aim to create an experience for guests that is unique to this location, with a secondary facade that harmonizes with the nature of Higashiyama in the background and the street where shrines and temples are concentrated, an approach that feels like "another approach to the temple," and a lobby restaurant overlooking a Japanese garden designed to expand the Betsuin garden. In collaboration with interior designers and next-generation traditional craftsmen, we proposed what a hotel should be like within the temple grounds of Kyoto through architecture, Landscape Design, interior design, and crafts.
