Fukuda Denshi Co., Ltd. Hongo Office

The company's office, located in a residential area in Hongo, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, was rebuilt at its current location. The facade and spatial composition are in keeping with the environment and scale of the residential area, with the L-shaped precast concrete exterior panels with eaves creating a segmented volume using shadows, and an approach that gives the building a sense of residential scale, with a low eaves space, greenery, and a lattice fence. The building also takes employee health into consideration, with the adoption of ceiling radiant air conditioning and floor seepage air conditioning, natural ventilation through a void, and a staircase designed to encourage active use by employees.
