Kanagawa University Minato Mirai Campus
This is the first comprehensive university campus to be built in Minato Mirai 21 District. The lower to middle floors feature multi-layered outdoor terraces and staircases, each connecting to the learning commons inside the building. The upper floors house seminar spaces that also serve as staircases and open-shelf library storage. The plan is to make the entire building a learning space, rather than confining students to labs and classrooms. Equipped with industry-academia-government collaboration facilities, lifelong learning facilities, and a hall, the facility is open to the community without a fence around the perimeter of the site, aiming to be a high-rise urban facility that differs from office buildings.

In terms of Landscape, we aimed to create a space that would encourage people to walk freely in all directions, even though it is an urban high-rise campus.
The building was planned as the skeletal axis of the campus, with the higher floors positioned in the center and the lower floors housing community open facilities and a variety of terrace spaces, creating a three-dimensional flow of space.The rooftop terrace and plaza serve as "outdoor commons," providing a place for students to learn, interact, and relax.
