JAPAN SPORT OLYMPIC SQUARE
JAPAN SPORT OLYMPIC SQUARE
The headquarters building for a sports-related organization is located in the Jingu Gaien area of Tokyo.
The design is intended to give the architecture movement in harmony with the surrounding sports facilities. By combining two elements of movement, strength and delicacy, the sense of life found in sports is embodied in a dynamic design.
The glass curtain wall was created using the cold bent method, a first in Japan, to achieve a dynamic shape. Large louvers with slits are installed on the east and west sides, providing both solar shading and daylight utilization while creating an expression of delicate movement.
