Marunouchi Eiraku Building
Marunouchi Eiraku Building
An office building developed as an integrated project on the site of three existing buildings.
On the lower floors, a large eaves was placed along the 31m line set by the Marunouchi guidelines. The bank, stores and office entrances were located below it. As the planned site is located at the junction of Marunouchi and Otemachi, the exterior design of the upper floors was designed with a "gate" in mind.
Utilizing the energy-saving methods and technological know-how proven in the preceding Marunouchi project, the building proactively adopts new technologies to achieve the highest level of environmental performance.

Landscape Design
In planning Landscape Design, we developed a design that would add even more appeal to the site, which already had great potential.
Along Marunouchi Nakadori Street, the axis of activity, two rows of tall deciduous and evergreen trees have been arranged. While maintaining the continuity of the townscape, the space changes with the seasons, with the fresh greenery of spring, the shade of summer, the yellow leaves of autumn, and the sunlight of winter, aiming to be a space that visitors can enjoy at any time. In addition, the "Eiraku Path," a corridor with green walls, has been renovated, adding a staying function to the passageway traffic line. In doing so, we were conscious of the composition of the greenery so as not to make one feel the gaps between the high-rise buildings, creating a space where stillness and movement intersect peacefully.
Active greening has also been implemented on the building, with wall greening implemented mainly at the corners of Nakadori and Eiraku Komichi. The tall deciduous trees on the second floor terrace and the bamboo screen on the third floor provide a sense of lush greenery to pedestrians walking along Nakadori.

Underground connecting passage
In conjunction with the building reconstruction project in the Marunouchi district, we constructed an underground passageway connecting the new B1 entrance and exit of Otemachi Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line and the Marunouchi Eiraku Building, improving convenience for employees and visitors to the building and general subway users, and expanding the underground pedestrian network in the Otemachi-Yu district.
By connecting to the sunken garden and relaxing restrictions on subway opening width, we were able to achieve ample passageway width and ceiling height, creating a comfortable, open underground space.
Additionally, a sense of spatial unity was created by unifying the interior design of the underground passageway and the building and coordinating it with the station renovation plans.
