This is a reconstruction of Toyo Bunko, which was established in 1924.
In addition to enhancing the preservation and research functions for valuable books such as national treasures and important cultural properties, we have also established a museum and cafe to promote their popularity.
facade is made of large tiles of different widths, representing the accumulation of knowledge with books lined up, and slight depressions create a grass pattern, based on the motif of the watermarks used in book bindings.
Toyo Bunko is based on the concept of "Books - Knowledge - The East," with an exhibition room surrounded by bookshelves, an interior accented with vermilion, and a spatial layout where new discoveries are made the further you go.
