The head office building of a "community-based credit union" that blends in with the culture of Kumagaya.
Taking inspiration from the bamboo blinds found on the eaves of the former post town (Kumagaya-juku), facade on the old Nakasendo side is designed as a light, airy "bamboo blind screen" with terracotta louvers (high-rise sections) and openwork brickwork (low-rise sections). This provides shade from the summer sun, provides adequate privacy, and creates a friendly appearance on the national highway side.
The building also features a base isolation structure, and the interior and exterior of the building are finished with a textured feel and are illuminated.
