Rinku Premium Outlets® pedestrian bridge installation work
One of Japan's leading outlet malls is located across the river from Kansai International Airport. We were in charge of the design and Construction Supervision of a pedestrian bridge that crosses the Izumisano-Iwade Line (prefectural road) and connects the second floors of the new and existing buildings.
The structural type is a post-tensioned PC simple through girder bridge, and by using ultra-high strength fiber reinforced concrete as the material, a deck thickness of 130 mm and a web of 80 mm (central cross section of the span) has been achieved.
Furthermore, in consultation with Osaka Prefecture, we were able to display the name of the footbridge, "RINKU PREMIUM OUTLETS BRIDGE." Furthermore, we selected the colors of the footbridge and the letters, taking into consideration the sense of unity between the existing and new buildings and how the name of the footbridge would stand out against the background color.
