Seikei Gakuen Main Building
Seikei Gakuen Main Building was designed by Kotaro Sakurai Mitsubishi Sha and constructed by Shimizu Gumi Limited Partnership, and was completed in 1924 (Taisho 13).
The strong axis of the approach and the symmetrical layout of the surrounding buildings create a symbolic campus space. The elegant brick tile exterior, along with the rows of Zelkova trees, have fostered tradition as the face of the school for 80 years.
In this renovation, the exterior facade and major interior features such as the auditorium have been preserved and restored to their original state at the time of completion, and functional improvements have been made, including seismic reinforcement, layout changes, and equipment renovations, so that the building can continue to be used in line with modern needs.
