Ferris University Yamate Campus Building 10 facade restoration work
This building was designed by Antonin Raymond as a housing complex and completed in 1929. It was originally used as company housing for the Rising Sun Oil Company, and later became the property of Ferris University and was used as a university research lab. Before restoration, facade was painted white with black sashes, but an investigation revealed that facade was originally beige with green sashes.
The rooftop parapet, which is made of sky-blue tiles, was restored using PC, and at the request of the school, the terrazzo section at the tip of the south balcony was restored using the same material, recreating the original as faithfully as possible.
