A bank branch located in a newly developed residential area in Ibaraki Prefecture.
By segmenting the overall volume of the building, it is possible to harmonize the scale with the surrounding residential area and create a friendly image. At the same time, original brick tiles made by reduction firing are used on the exterior walls, emphasizing the dignity and presence of a bank.
The design of the vertical PC louvers on facade was inspired by the pattern of the cultivated land that spreads around the project site, and also functions to effectively block the western sun.As a further environmental consideration, the inside of the louvers are double-skinned, which allows warm air to be exhausted at the top, reducing the heat load inside the room.
