Since Mitsubishi Estate announced the "Marunouchi Redevelopment Plan" in 1988, a redevelopment council was organized by related landowners and the government, and discussions were held on how to develop the area, leading to increased momentum for redevelopment in the Marunouchi area. In this environment, the decision was made to rebuild the Maru Building and Shoji Building, marking the first time that assessment was applied in the area.
