As part of the Urban Renewal Special Zone, various proposals were made with the environment as the main theme for the development of the Marunouchi Park Building (tower and low-rise buildings), and the restored Mitsubishi Ichigokan.
The area is surrounded by the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum and the commercial zone, and features the Ichigokan Mitsubishi Ichigokan, a lush green space for relaxation that also contributes to combating the heat island effect. In addition, an underground passageway was constructed in 2021, forming an underground pedestrian network connecting to Tokyo Station.

Mitsubishi Ichigokan
Mitsubishi Jisho Design Mitsubishi Ichigokan The building was designed by Josiah Conder (1852-1920), a cornerstone of the Marunouchi Building Society, and completed in 1894 as Marunouchi's first office building by Tatsuzo Sone, the site supervisor. It is a restored building.
A seismic isolation layer has been installed in the basement to recreate the brick masonry and wood framing of the period.
Bricks, stones, metal fittings, etc. were examined based on drawings, photographs, and historical documents of the period, and after restoring the building as faithfully as possible, modifications were made to make it suitable for use as a museum.
Ichigokan Square
Located on artificial ground and surrounded by the Marunouchi Park Building and Mitsubishi Ichigokan, Ichigokan Plaza is a relaxing courtyard filled with water and greenery that is bustling with people every day. It also functions as a highly open passageway that passes through the city block, and is composed of a series of various scenes, including a fountain, rest areas, an open café, and a promenade surrounded by greenery.
Josiah Conder, the designer of the Mitsubishi Ichigokan, used roses in the garden in memory of his native England. In Ichigokan Plaza, over 40 varieties of roses are used, including old roses that were in use when Mitsubishi Ichigokan was completed, and flowering trees that can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons are planted to delight visitors.
Marunouchi Brick Square
For this project, we are providing management-type CM (interior Construction Supervision support and B construction architectural design and construction supervision support) services for the tenant construction work at the commercial facility "Marunouchi Brick Square."
Babasaki-dori underpass(2021)
A T-shaped underground passage has been constructed connecting Marunouchi Park Building, JR Keiyo Line Tokyo Station, and Shin Tokyo Building.
With the construction of this underground passageway, an underground pedestrian network has been formed, connecting the Marunouchi and Yurakucho districts, and linking Tokyo Station on the JR Keiyo Line with Hibiya Station on the Toei Subway.
In addition, steam piping has been installed within the corridor to create a surface-wide district heating and cooling network for the Marunouchi and Yurakucho areas, which contributes to improving the area's environmental friendliness and disaster prevention capabilities, as well as making effective use of waste heat from the CGS.
