Watanabedori Minami Building

This building is jointly owned by FM Fukuoka and Nishi-Nippon City Bank. The first to third floors are the bank branch, the fourth floor is rented offices, and the fifth to seventh floors are the FM broadcasting station, including the studio. The exterior design is characterised by vertical louvers and horizontal eaves installed to protect against the afternoon sun. Designed immediately after the Fukuoka West Offshore Earthquake, the building was designed with a seismic isolation structure to increase safety as a broadcasting facility. A rooftop garden has also been provided to take into consideration the surrounding microclimate and as a space for employees to relax.
