Izumi Park Town
Izumi Park Town
Located about 10km northwest of Sendai, Izumi Park Town is a new town based on the concept of "creating a town where people and nature can coexist," aiming to become an independent, multi-purpose city that fulfills functions such as "living," "working," "relaxing," "learning, gathering, and having fun." With a total area of 1,070ha and a planned population of 50,000, development has been progressing over the past 40 years since construction began in 1972, with approximately 85% of the infrastructure completed.
The existing mountains and reservoirs within the town have been left intact and developed into parks and green spaces, providing a living environment rich in nature with a green space ratio of over 30%.The town is also a residential area that takes into consideration the maintenance of the streetscape, with the introduction of a district plan and planting management by a residents' management organization.
