This observation deck is located in Muroto, an area on the eastern edge of Kochi Prefecture that is famous for typhoons, and is used for events such as elementary school field trips. Barrier-free access and an observation deck are two very different elements that are expressed in one piece of work. The location of the observation deck was selected within the vast site, taking into consideration traffic flow, the location, and even ease of construction. The tip of the observation deck and part of the slope are cantilevered, limiting the area that would be damaged by the naturally growing trees, and minimizing the amount of excavated soil, in consideration of the environment.
