An office building (with some commercial facilities) directly connected to a subway station near Taipei Songshan Airport.
We analyzed the unique urban cross-section of Taiwan, where buildings about 50m high line the main roads surrounding the project, with low-rise residential areas continuing inside them, and aimed to create an urban oasis where people, insects, and birds can gather by creating a "three-dimensional forest free of building winds." A vast three-dimensional green space of about 930m2 and about 21m above ground was created on the rooftop of a low-rise building consisting of large-span offices and commercial facilities. The office tower's planar shape and eaves on each floor reduce the air conditioning load caused by strong sunlight, while considering the wind environment on the lower floors and constructing an environmental facade that maximizes views.
