NOHMI BOSAI Mitaka Factory

NOHMI BOSAI Mitaka Factory

This is a relocation project for a factory that manufactures disaster prevention panels. With an emphasis on ensuring the safety of the school route that the site faces, noise control for the neighborhood, and continuity with the streetscape, a long and narrow building was extended to the sidewalk, and the loading and unloading area was placed at the back. Given the need to control vibration, temperature, and humidity, the building is windowless and made of reinforced concrete, but to ease the feeling of oppression, the volume was divided into three. Three types of uneven patterns were added to express "disaster prevention safety," "production technology," and "regional history." Furthermore, the plantings on the site were integrated with the greenery of the neighboring land. Part of the building was set back to place greenery on each floor and on the rooftop terrace, creating a rich green space.
