The planned site along Aoyama-dori Street had the potential to attract a diverse range of people, including office workers, students, and creators, but was surrounded by major roads, making it difficult to get around. This redevelopment project will create a new pedestrian network hub that spans both inside and outside the building, connecting the Shibuya and Aoyama areas.
The "urban core" (vertical circulation that eliminates the valley topography of the area), which is the basic concept behind the redevelopment of Shibuya Station, has been developed, with an atrium in the center of the building equipped with stairs, escalators, and places to sit and relax throughout. Entrances to each direction and bridges connecting to the decks and footbridges around the site have been installed to draw in people, creating circulation that unfolds in six directions while eliminating differences in elevation. This has created a pedestrian network that seamlessly connects the area.

The deck extending to the left of the photo connects to Shibuya Hikarie. The plaza on the first floor of the Shibuya Station entrance, called SHIBUYA SPOT, will be a lively space where food trucks and live music events will be held.

Viewed from the Aoyama side, there are multiple approaches at different levels, including a semi-outdoor slope, stairs leading to the office lobby, and an entrance to the commercial floor.
A place where the different cultures and people of Aoyama and Shibuya can interact and intersect
The atrium connects the first and second floors, creating a seamless flow of traffic that extends vertically and into the surrounding areas.
