THE GATE HOTEL YOKOHAMA by HULIC

This hotel project is located in a place that could be called the face of Yokohama, where buildings that strongly retain Yokohama's history and culture stand side by side, and which is integrated with Yamashita Park facing the harbor and Park Street lined with ginkgo trees.
The building's exterior is based on a three-tiered structure—low-rise, middle-rise, and top—that conveys the dignity befitting a hotel and the history of Yokohama. The low-rise section aligns with the lines of the cityscape, the middle-rise section uses horizontal ribs to create rhythm, the building's corners have gentle R-shapes, and the light and eye-catching top section aims to harmonize naturally with the adjacent historical buildings.
Furthermore, incorporating the atmosphere of this area, which has developed as the heart of Yokohama since the opening of the port, and based on the concept of "Embracing the Atmosphere of Yamashita, the Port Town," the hotel has created three terraces that allow guests to fully experience the port town's atmosphere even from inside the hotel: a "Land Terrace" that connects to the restaurant interior and faces Yamashita Park, a U-shaped "Sea Terrace" facing the 4-meter-high front bar lounge, and a "Sky Terrace" with a rooftop garden. These three terraces, each with its own distinct character, are designed to offer views of Yamashita Park, Yokohama Port, Minatomirai, and other iconic Yokohama scenery from each location.
