THE GATE HOTEL YOKOHAMA by HULIC

THE GATE HOTEL YOKOHAMA by HULIC

Overall view of the hotel (center). The continuity of the lines of the lower floors is conscious, creating harmony with the streetscape on the Yamashita Park Street side.

This hotel project is located in a place that could be called the face of Yokohama, where buildings that strongly represent the history and culture of Yokohama line the streets, Yamashita Park facing the harbor, and Ginkgo-lined Park Avenue are lined up.
The exterior of the building is based on a three-story structure consisting of a low, middle and top floor, which evokes the dignity of a hotel and the history of Yokohama. The low floors are aligned with the lines of the street, the middle floors use horizontal ribs to create rhythm, the corners of the building are gently curved, and the top floor is light and eye-catching, aiming to blend naturally with the adjacent historic buildings.
Furthermore, based on the concept of "wearing the air of port town Yamashita," which incorporates the atmosphere of this location, which has developed as the center of Yokohama since the port opened, the hotel has been designed so that guests can feel the port town atmosphere with their whole body, with a "land terrace" that faces Yamashita Park and connects to the restaurant interior, a U-shaped "sea terrace" facing the 4m-high front bar lounge, and a "sky terrace" with a rooftop garden. These "three terraces with different atmospheres" are planned to allow guests to enjoy views of Yokohama, such as Yamashita Park, Yokohama Port, and Minato Mirai, from each location.

A "land terrace" has been placed facing Yamashita Park, connecting to the interior of the restaurant. The horizontal ribs and curved corners harmonize with the adjacent historical buildings, contributing to the formation of the landscape of Yamashita Park Street.
The U-shaped "Sea Terrace" faces the 4m-high front bar lounge on the 12th floor. The lobby has no pillars on the sea side, and through the mullions, you can see the entire port of Yokohama from the terrace.

The rooftop "Sky Terrace" is a rooftop garden exclusively for guests.
A guest room facing Yamashita Park. The large windows allow you to enjoy the ever-changing views of the city and harbor.

In addition to the warm lighting plan, the lighting at the top and lower floors can be adapted to 12 scenes, including local colors, seasonal colors, and event colors. The photo shows the local color "Blue Light Yokohama."
