Green Loop Concept: Cultivating the urban "edge"

Green Loop Concept: Tilling the Urban Fringes

DATA

Our BusinessBasic Concept

A new approach to urban redevelopment that starts from the "edge"

On the brink, at the edge of retreat, at the edge of the waves.
In Japan, the word "kiwa" (edge) has long been regarded as more than just a boundary; it is a place where different elements, such as inside and outside, nature and people, stillness and movement, intersect and where the aspects of things change. It is imbued with the meaning of a place where people gather, landscapes are born, and new values are born.

While urban redevelopment has energized social activities, it has also continued to pose structural challenges such as increased environmental impact and energy consumption.
As a new approach to urban redevelopment, we are proposing a concept called "Green Loop" that redefines urban boundaries by focusing on the "edges" that are the outer edges of development areas.
Traditionally, the "border" in urban redevelopment has been treated as a boundary line that simply separates the inside from the outside with roads and fences. However, Green Loop regenerates this "border" not as a place of division, but as an interface that connects the city and the region, the artificial and the natural.
Specifically, by greening the area's "edges" with greenery and implementing technologies and mechanisms that contribute to reducing environmental impact, recycling resources, and revitalizing the local area, people will naturally gather in the area, transforming it into an "urban margin" that is open to the surrounding area.
This will enable the redevelopment area to no longer be a "closed world," but to become a familiar presence for the surrounding area, and to become a new urban space where people, nature, and technology coexist in harmony with the local community.

Turning urban issues into social catalysts

Today's urban redevelopment requires greater social responsibility than ever before.
We do not view the challenges that arise with redevelopment as simply negative aspects that need to be solved. Green Loop This is not a passive approach that simply seeks to reduce the impact of climate change, but rather a proactive challenge to elevate it into a value necessary for building the society of the future.
"Carbon Neutral," "Circular Economy," "Nature Positive," and "Resilience" That 4 We will develop technologies related to each of the three challenging themes. Green Loop By implementing this technology, we aim to make the urban "edge" itself a showcase for future society and to play a role as a social catalyst that accelerates sustainable circulation.
We aim to realize "a greener future," "well-being that everyone can enjoy," and "sustainable beautiful scenery" through urban redevelopment itself. An integrated model for next-generation green urbanism It will transform it into

The Green Loop will implement a range of technologies related to the four challenging themes of "carbon neutral," "circular economy," "nature positive," and "resilience."

Announced at Smart City Expo World Congress 2025

We announced this concept at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025 (SCEWC 2025), one of the world's largest smart city-related trade fairs, held in Barcelona, Spain in November 2025.
The proposal by the design firm, which combines perspectives in architecture, civil engineering, and urban development, attracted a great deal of attention as a "methodology for building smart cities that starts from the hard aspects (space and structure)," and received a great deal of feedback and concrete approaches from government agencies, developers, research institutions, and corporate representatives from around the world.
