"Gotemba Roadside Rest Area" - A Local Tourism Hub and Activity Park and Plan

Gotemba City in Shizuoka Prefecture serves as a gateway to Izu, Hakone, and the Fuji Five Lakes.
Our company has been commissioned by the city to formulate the basic concept and plan for a roadside convenience facility (a facility with functions similar to a roadside station) that will serve as a base for "Gotemba-style economic and tourism revitalization," tentatively named "(Tentative name) Mt. Fuji's Bounty Industrial Park."

In this project, which aims to revitalize the local economy and expand the number of people connected to Gotemba by transforming it from a transit tourist destination (a tourist destination that serves as a stopover point) to a destination tourist destination (a tourist destination that serves as a destination in itself), our company has formulated a basic philosophy and design concept themed around "Mount Fuji water," a local resource.
Based on this, we proposed formulating various functions for the facility and zoning that maximizes the view of Mt. Fuji. We also created perspective drawings to share the image among stakeholders in order to promote future feasibility studies.

In undertaking these initiatives, our company has collaborated with various companies and organizations operating in the area, including Gotemba Premium Outlets, to conduct extensive research into the diverse needs lurking in the area and the potential for participation from companies and organizations both inside and outside the city. By incorporating the results into proposals for facility functions and other aspects, we are strengthening our conceptual capabilities toward realization and supporting the local government.
