Environment Review014Year Book 2014循環型社会の形成に寄与するため、水資源の循環利用や再生資材の活用に努めています。余剰中水を道路に散水してヒートアイランドを防止する試みや、皇居のお濠の水の浄化システムをビル内に構築する試みを始め、CO2を吸収する木材を積極的に構造材として利用し、国内の木材利用の促進や森林整備にも寄与する取り組みも行っています。また、建物の保存技術の活用やスケルトン・インフィルによる建物のロングライフ化も進めています。To help bring about a closed-loop society, we are working to promote the reuse of water resources and the recycling of material resources. For example, by sprinkling recycled greywater on pavements to mitigate the urban heat island eect, by installing a water purication system for the Imperial Palace moat in a nearby building, and by selecting wood as a structural material. Wider use of domestic timber will help maintain Japan’s forest resources, which capture and store CO2.
