Project Description

The JS Luwansa hotel lobby refurbishment is a project to freshen up the entrance and lobby due to the high demand for its accomodation and large footfall when holding events and functions. In view of the increasing need to pursue mindfulness, the concept proposed was "Luxury and Serenity". The establishment aimed to provide a place of relaxation and serenity despite staying in the city centre. Transitioning from a busy workday into a tranquil sancturary, exchanging thoughts and chatter in the lobby, as well as providing a satisfying and special experience for the guests using the space were the key considerations. By enlarging the lobby and removing the obstruction in the previous design, the hotel became more open to public and welcoming to surrounding potential customers. Furniture, lighting and greenery were carefully chosen to provide for such experiences. The scope of MJDA was to carry out concept design, while design development and construction was done by a local Design & Build contractor.

A bar counter acted as a catalyst to maintain connectivity between the main lobby and grand restaurant, as a meeting point for all types of guests whether from the hotel, convention hall or external visitors. The eye catching linear lighting design and selection of brass furniture became a signature with its luxury look.

The interior color palette, furniture and lighting were carefully selected to feature the boutique aesthetics of JS Luwansa Hotel.

The winding luxury sofa that continues to the grand restaurant naturally formed gathering spaces and circulation, while elevating the mood of guests. Greenery placed in lobby space softened the impression of the entire interior, expressing the concept of "Serenity".
